Someday, Someday
02:47
|
|||
Far away, like a daisy trying to grow right on your doorstep.
I will be here, waiting in the clear for you to come again someday.
Spring is here, and the loneliness of winter has blown past me.
No longer a leaf, weighed down with constant grief. These bitter winds cease to howl.
Going away, it’s time. And I swear, my friends, I’ll miss you dearly. Promise I’ll answer when you call, if I’m not busy at all. And I will come again someday.
Fall again, and I just don’t seem to know what I’m doing. Please help me believe, even though I have to leave, all these things that make me run.
College seems, to be the stuff of teenaged dreams. And looking back on then, I would do it all again, and I’d regret not a single thing.
Going away, it’s time. And I swear, my friends, I’ll miss you dearly. Promise I’ll answer when you call, if I’m not busy at all. And I will come again someday.

Backup Plan
04:17
|
|||
It’s like I’ve built you up, just to bring me down.
I lean in for a kiss, and you turn around.
Stuck beside the road, nowhere planned to go.
Looking for a home. Only where to, though?
Atop a fallen star, crashed into our world.
The lights are going dark, just another girl.
You’ve got to take control, you’ve got to grab a hold.
You’ve got to be the warm, and forget the cold. ¬¬¬
Going nowhere fast, I’ll find something to last.
We come and go in waves, you know you’ve overstayed?
Let’s finish this somehow, no better time than now.
Don’t stay amongst your kind, but always take your time.

Rockaway
05:12
|
|||
Leaving a full bag of autumn leaves, sick of dealing with the snowfall, and cloudy days.
Packing my suitcase with dollar bills, sneaking up a handful of sunshine, and leave a little rain to stay.
And all that’s left are summer dreams, bottled water and Dramamine; let’s make this trip fast.
But we’ll always have our memories, how you are still the best to me, I want to make it last.
Pulled up in the car to Josephine’s, the full sun starting to run away, don’t want to see it set.
But it’d be best to be around, cause sadly it’s the thought that counts, our numbered days.
Love, take me down, down on the road to rockaway. Take me there don’t turn away, I want you to stay.
Just look at all you gave to me, I mean that with sincerity, for you I’ll walk the mile.
We’ll dance around listening to, some frank, some fats, ella and lou, I love to see you smile.
Love, take me down, down on the road to rockaway. Take me there don’t turn away, I want you to stay.
Love, take me down, down on the road to rockaway. Take me there don’t turn away, I want you to stay.

Letter to Reno
03:51
|
|||
I'll send a letter to you
Sweet, sun-summer dream
I'll never know, if You'll ever know
who it's from.
Setting out, down past the floor
a solid turn around and headed for the door
truly type a worthy note
Sincerely present as my conscious surely shows
oh fate please let her out
and come forth like a stream
oh in the light of my night
Sweet summer dream.
across room portrait
oh the makeup is too much
I'll never know, if I don't go
and talk to you.
from awkward voices setting sail
to chai tea lattes and a dose of happiness
take a walk out to the park
and stay up talking til way past the time it's dark
so come to me reno,
fortune favors those who wait
but I cannot
Because hell, that's not me.
crooked smiles,
point a cross hair on your lips
a figure eight, pointing straight
sweet summer dream

Sore Winner
02:49
|
|||
You know there’s a park down by the river
Near that place we used to be
Yea the trails we would go walking on, in the time when we felt free.
But we left that town, didn’t turn around. Yea, I’ll never be the same.
Took a drink, after a shower, all the girls are here in an hour
“Let’s all hope to get just what we want”
Stay away from there, Virginia, those kid’sll eat your soul for dinner
“I never said that I was one to trust.”
Maybe take, a look in the mirror, maybe then we’ll see a little clearer to
Stop
Let’s lose our minds, one at a time.
I could sure use some change.
Take a break from fallin’ sideways, you can rest your head on me.
If we all just knew our limits, it’d be easier to see.
I crossed that line, about a dozen times.
I’m just looking for somewhere safe.
Try and find, a date for dinner, you’ve never met a sorer winner.
I just want the ones, I found, that don’t want me.
Save some face, but pick up quickly; always have the most fun don’t we?
Let’s just lose some conscious one more time.
Maybe take, a look in the mirror, maybe then we’ll see a little clearer to
Stop
This is the end, fallen again.
Like an angel, I’ll take the plunge.

Living in Redundancy
02:37
|
|||
I see the lights flicker from afar, while we are sitting right here in my car.
For sure, of course I know, that I can’t stay here watching the world go by
“There’s got to be something, something out there for me that gives me substance, make myself feel free. But no, I guess I won’t,” I say on the phone. “But wait,” you tell me.
“Concert lights and fog machines await, or at least a nice girl you can date.” She goes, but speaks in code. “I just don’t want you sitting here, watching the world go by.”
“You live in colors, talking real soft, hoping so hard that you get caught. Oh no, I’m right you know.”
And I open my eyes.
I realize where I am. I find out where I am. I’m stuck right where I am. Until I find a way out.
Pick a flower and put it on your ear; you never did belong in this time, dear.
“I know; I’m high it’s low. The friend of foe, I’m stuck here, though. Let’s find a way to get out of here.”
